Fundraising for JHMRF

How to fundraise

However you want to raise money there are so many charity fundraising ideas you can chose from. Your fundraising talents never cease to amaze us. From sky diving, to sponsored cycles and walks, to raffles to bake offs and coffee mornings. Your contributions are vital and hugely appreciated.

As a group

Support groups have been very generous with fundraising for us and we have also had local community groups raise money for us, including a local choir and a running group. Perhaps you are a member of a local group who could spare some time to help fundraise.

At work

Sponsored events at work are often ideal ways of inviting friends and colleagues to support fundraising and are a good way of spreading the word about the dangers of asbestos, and about the lack of centrally funded research around mesothelemia.

Some workplaces can offer staff the chance to ‘round down’ as a way of donating the pennies from your pay to charity or make regular donations through a salary sacrifice scheme.

At school

Why not speak to your local school to see if their children can help by taking part in activities including a tombola at a school fair, a Christmas card or easter egg decoration competition or perhaps a raffle.

Contact us if you would like to talk through a fundraising idea. We may be able to put you in touch with someone who has done something recently done something similar and can advise you.

Share your fundraising successes on social media. Don’t forget to mention us or link to The June Hancock Mesothelioma Research Fund.

Or look at our news and events pages to see when the next fundraising event is taking place, and if you can’t find anything near by, perhaps you would like to organise something.
